Snapshot management

Manage up to 1,000 snapshots, with overwrite, rename, and delete actions.

Search and order

Search part of a name or enter # and a number, such as #12. Press Enter to load a match, or drag to reorder.

List details

Right-aligned bold numbers and modification times; refreshing preserves the scroll position.

Quick actions

Hotkeys can open the window, load a chosen snapshot, or move backward and forward. In the list, use Enter to load, F2 to rename, and Delete to remove. Confirmation dialogs select Confirm by default.

Window position

Restore the main window's position and size with the layout.

Import and export

Import and export JSON snapshot files.

Restores existing docks only; it does not recreate deleted docks or third-party plugin settings. Results may differ across operating systems.

1. Install

   Close OBS, extract the ZIP, run the installation script, and restart.

2. Save

   Open Tools → Layout Snapshots and choose “New snapshot.”

3. Load

   Double-click a snapshot to restore its layout. Nothing loads automatically at startup.

For OBS Studio 32.0.4. Close OBS and fully extract the ZIP before installing. After a successful installation, a five-second countdown closes the installer; press any key to finish sooner.
